Like all RGPL coated rings, BLACK DIAMOND uses the same precision-machined flanged base as SIGMA-EXCEL and EXCEL. The distinctive differentiator is the black rust-preventive coating — a unique surface treatment that delivers superior corrosion protection alongside traveller-friendly characteristics.
This makes BLACK DIAMOND the ideal choice for mills located in coastal, high-humidity, or monsoon-affected regions where standard chrome rings suffer from accelerated corrosion. The black coating also delivers reasonable friction characteristics for standard spinning counts (Ne 10–30), giving economic mills consistent performance and extended ring life compared to uncoated alternatives.
